In 2020, after finishing up on an afghan I was working on, a story came into my head about an old woman who crochets. As usually happens, the story kept intruding on my thoughts and writing itself in my brain. After seeing a few Crochet-Alongs on Facebook, I wondered how fun it would be to have a pattern for the story and make it a Crohet-Along project. Turns out it was a lot of fun.

The world was in lockdown due to Covid 19 and evereyone was reaching out online and video to stay connected. I was no different.I put out a call through one of my crochet facebook pages looking for a designer that might want to take the project on. To my delight, Debbie Hemsley answered the call and so began a magical collaboration. As I wrote the story, Debbie created the stitches with amazing sychronicity. And so it went for six months.

We opened a facebook page in December of 2020 and immediately had overwhelming interest. The first pattern and book section was released on April 1, 2021. At the hight of the project, we had 2,400 members from 14 countries.

I’ve included a few photos.
