I’m usually a one-off kind of person.

I don’t usually read books more than once or see movies more than once. With today’s streaming services, it’s a little easier to watch the same thing many times. I find myself doing that not so much because I loved the movie, but because after searching for thrity minutes for something to watch, I still haven’t found something that looks interesting.

These are the exceptions.

The Wizard of Oz

If you’ve lived long enough, you’ve watched this a hundred times. I don’t go looking for it, but if it shows up on my home screens or on my cable service, I might just watch it again.

It’s a Wonderful Life

I find that people are either Scrooge or It’s a Wonderful Life types for the classic holiday movie. Am I right? And everyone watches Charlie Brown. Right? The Hallmark channel has created a whole genre around Christmas - like the old Harlaquin romances. Remember them? I just googled them. There’re still around. 76 years! Who knew?

Princess Bride

I’ve always loved this move. Imagine my surprise when I saw it listed as a cult movie. I watched the twenty-fifth anniversary showing in the park in St. Peterburg, Florida, with a few hundren of my peeps.

Field of Dreams

What can I say? Don’t judge me.

Things I’ve never seen -

  • Rocky Horror Picture Show

  • Any of the friday the thirteeth or Halloween franchises

  • Most of the superhero genre. I’ve seen Wonder Woman and the first Superman, you know, with Christopher Reeves.

Series I love to binge - more than once. Because everything is streaming now, I can watch whatever, whenever. So eventually even the ones I like get old. These have stood the test of time.

Eureka

Psych

Mom

The Big Bang Theory

I’m currently watching Supernatural. Again.
